Introduction to EMC
A practical guide to electromagnetic compatibility - produced by some of Sweden's leading EMC experts
This book is designed to provide a clear and pedagogical introduction to EMC - with no prior knowledge required beyond a basic understanding of electricity.
Through our experience at Swelex, together with the authors' many years of work in the field, we recognise that knowledge of EMC is often limited, even though it is a crucial factor in many technical solutions.
The book can be used both as:
- an encyclopaedia for everyday life
- support in training and skills development
The content provides a comprehensive understanding of EMC and serves as a first step into a complex but important subject area.

The authors of the book
Mr Jan-Olof Brink
Jan-Olof has worked with EMC at Saab Kockums in Karlskrona since 1986. He has been involved in everything from new build to refit projects, and his experience extends to both the Swedish Navy and international customers.
Mr Mikael Klasson
Mikael has over 30 years of experience in EMC products and solutions. He has run Jolex AB for over 20 years, which today is part of Swelex. Mikael has worked with both components and EMC customised design.
Mr Urban Lundgren
Urban works at Aros Elektronik and has a background as a researcher at RISE. With experience as an EMC specialist in the automotive and defence industries, he combines technology with practical problem solving.
At Swelex, we work daily with solutions in electronics, automation and technical systems. EMC is a central part of many of our customers' challenges, and with this book we want to contribute to increased knowledge and better solutions in the industry.
