Contactor

Heat pipe

Materials used for heat conduction in medical devices include metals, ceramics and composites, and they must fulfil high requirements for biocompatibility and thermal stability. The main standards include:

• IEC 60601-1-11: Particular requirements for the safety of medical electrical equipment used in the home, including refrigeration.
• ISO 60601-1-2: Electromagnetic compatibility and influence of cooling systems on electromagnetic performance.
• ISO 3744: Measurement of sound levels from cooling systems to ensure acceptable noise levels in clinical environments.
