Special & Spring Probe connectors

Spring Probe connectors with IDI technology are designed to optimise performance in applications that require high reliability and many connection cycles. The connectors are flexible, making them ideal for blind-mate solutions, as they automatically adjust for x, y, z, rotational and angular deviations. With compressed heights of less than 2 mm and use on pits as small as 0.4 mm, they are well suited for high-density solutions, board-to-board, battery connectors and high-frequency applications.

Perfect for Blind-mate

Spring contacts are flexible on the contact surface, instead of penetrating the counterpart like traditional pin and socket contacts. This provides unique opportunities for Blind-mate, where the connector can be connected at a 90° angle and automatically wipe away dirt and contamination. The connector can also be disconnected at any angle, making the technology ideal for quick disconnect solutions.

• Special and Spring Probe connectors are designed to minimise transition resistances, reflections and interference, providing a clean and reproducible signal even in sensitive applications. The mechanically stable design allows the signal paths to remain consistent, even under vibration, mechanical impact or frequent switching cycles.

Tolerance uptake

• Spring contacts have a high flexibility in relation to their length, allowing compact and tight solutions while maintaining contact force. The connectors are low profile and can withstand both challenging connection conditions and vibrations.

Low and stable resistance

• The contacts feature advanced technology to ensure stable contact resistance, even under heavy shock and vibration. They can be designed to withstand up to 30 A.

High frequency

• With short signal paths and expertise in signal integrity, spring connectors offer reliable solutions for both analogue and digital applications. Speeds up to 12 Gb/s and bandwidths of 20 GHz can be achieved, and the connectors can also be designed coaxially with insulators and metal bodies.

Long life span

• Spring contacts can handle between 20 000 and 500 000 connection cycles depending on the design. The helical spring ensures constant contact force over millions of cycles, and our expertise in materials and plating ensures that the connectors exceed the highest standards of longevity.
