Thermoelectric cooling systems (Peltier/TEC)
Precision cooling with thermoelectric modules
Thermoelectric cooling systems, often called Peltier or TEC modules, use thermoelectric power to directly move heat from one surface to another. By applying an electric current, a temperature difference is created between the sides of the module, allowing precise and localised cooling without moving parts.
Swelex offers thermal solutions with Peltier/TEC for applications where traditional cooling is not enough, where precision and fast temperature control are critical.

How does Peltier/TEC work?
When an electric current passes through a Peltier module, heat is absorbed on one side (cold side) and released on the other side (hot side). The cold side can be placed against the component that needs to be cooled, while the hot side is often combined with a heat sink or liquid cooling for efficient heat dissipation.
The advantage of TEC systems is:
- Fast temperature control
- Local and precise cooling
- Compact design with no moving parts
Advantages of thermoelectric cooling
- Precision cooling for sensitive electronics
- Quiet and vibration-free operation
- High reliability with minimal maintenance
- Flexible temperature control over both cooling and heating
- Compact and modular system that can be integrated into different solutions
When should you choose TEC?
Thermoelectric cooling systems are an excellent choice when:
- Precise temperature control required
- Compact solutions needed
- Moving parts and maintenance should be avoided
- Fast and reversible cooling/heating is desirable
